Wisdom Well
November Topic: Aren't we worth it? How we move through conflict without losing each other
CompassPoint is piloting a monthly drop-in space for Black folks to explore and strengthen their leadership in community called the Wisdom Well. We know there are tons of folks out there working to build a more just, Pro-Black, and liberatory future while also navigating our current oppressive systems and structures–we want to gather and build our collective knowledge together!
The Wisdom Well is a gathering space for Black folks to explore topics impacting our leadership with other Black folks. Each session we will explore a different topic and ask a question or pose a challenge related to that topic. The topics for 2026 have been identified from spaces we have been in with Black leaders. Each session will have a general structure however, the conversations and direction will come to life through who is in the room. As a participant, you can expect to "take a drop of wisdom" and to "leave a drop of wisdom". We encourage you to sign up for topics you are both well-versed in and topics that may be new to you. This space is for you if you are a Black person navigating nonprofit and movement spaces. Whether you are new to your role or a seasoned practitioner, this space is for you!
In this online gathering space, you will:
- Contribute to and draw from the group's collective wisdom — leaving each session with at least one new strategy, reframe, or resource you can apply to your leadership practice in real time.
- Develop authentic relationships with other Black leaders across the nonprofit and movement ecosystem, creating a reliable network of peers you can call on for support, solidarity, and shared problem-solving.
- Experience the Wisdom Well as a restorative and affirming space that reinforces your sense of agency as an architect of a more just and liberatory future.
You can attend as many or as few spaces that interest you and align with your schedule. You will need to sign up for each session individually. Please make sure that you are familiar with our cancellation policy.

November Session
Topic: Aren't we worth it? How we move through conflict without losing each other
In our November Wisdom Well, we will explore navigating conflict. Conflict, much like change, is one of the inevitabilities of our existence. Building our capacity to navigate conflict is imperative to building a world of collective liberation. Avoidance is a characteristic of white supremacy that is plaguing our movement. To take steps to learn how to better navigate conflict is an investment in each other.
"We are each other's harvest; we are each other's business; we are each other's magnitude and bond." - Gwendolyn Brooks
